Axel Hütte
Born in Essen, Germany in 1951, currently lives and works in Düsseldorf and Berlin.
Hütte ranks among the leading protagonists of contemporary landscape photography. Like his fellow artists from the Düsseldorfer school under Bernd and Hilla Becher – such as Candida Höfer, Andreas Gursky or Thomas Struth, Hütte stands for the tableau character of photography as an equivalent counterpart to painting.
